Had a relaxing day today- the calm before the storm of the upcoming month! Taya and I were both anticipating loading two trucks with project supplies that need to be delivered, and were told that they loading would begin at 7 am. So, both of us were up and ready to load the truck with our supplies. 8 o'clock came and went, no truck or driver. 10 o'clock came and went. No truck or driver. 12 o'clock came and went, no truck or driver. 2 o'clock came- my truck driver showed up and I went and loaded my supplies. Still no truck for Taya. We decided instead of waisting the rest of our day waiting for her truck, we might as well wait at the beach and keep our ears open for her phone to ring! Well, her truck never came. So much for 7 am!
Here was the view from our porch this evening- what a beautiful day we enjoyed!
This is me and my "Michigan dad." Jon was on the very first team I had hosted back in 2008 while I was hosting teams and visitors to African Bible College University. He's been a "regular" ever since, as well as his wife Vicki! They have both been up at ABCU for the last 6 weeks- Vicki teaching in the education department, and Jon continuing to lend his construction skills. I know for a fact that the students and staff at ABCU love this couple, as well as anyone who comes in contact with them! Jon and Vicki have been such a blessing to have in Liberia a few months each year, and are a great example of never growing tired of doing good.
Jon took us out for supper this evening, so the boys wanted to get dressed up.
After supper, Taya, Danielle and myself were tackling the pile of dirty dishes in our kitchen- as we were drying, each towel we pulled out had bigger and bigger holes. Guess its time for new towels!
