Slept incredibly hard last night in my top bunk. I think that is an important indicator to me that no matter how crazy life will be in the next 2 months, getting my sleep is important for me to stay healthy.
I finished up a few meetings in Foya, and boarded the SP chopper to travel to Bopolu. It was a beautiful day to fly, and the beauty of Liberia struck me once again.
Once in Bopolu, I met up with a team visiting from our UK office. Tomorrow we will be heading out to see some projects, and show off some of the work we've been doing the last few years!
Also, tomorrow back in Foya, we will be launching a campaign, along with the local church, about the awareness of HIV/AIDS, and also campaigning for free blood donations (Liberians are paid to give blood, which means if you have no money to buy blood, you will not recieve it in the hospital). This is an exciting time, with the launch of the first operating blood bank in Liberia! Our intern Danielle has been working extremely hard with our OVC team to make this happen. Please pray that there is a large and positive turn out!
